Hi everybody!
We've created this website to share all the details you need to know for our wedding day.
We are really looking forward to celebrating our special day with all of the friends and family who mean so much to us.
Please RSVP by the 18th March at the latest.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact either of us.
We can't wait to see you there, and wanted to say a huge thanks for your love and well wishes so far.
Love Rachel and Ben xx
You can rely on a satnav to take you to the right place if you put in the address above.
There is plenty of parking on site. Cars can be left overnight (at your own risk). The parking is also used for guests of Bennetts Cafe so we cannot guarantee exact number of spaces.
The venue is not immediately close to any public transport links. The closest train stations are in Worcester (Worcester Shrub Hill or Worcester Foregate Street). It would then be about a 3 mile taxi drive to the venue. (There are multiple taxi companies in Worcester, e.g. Worcester Taxis). If you are having any difficulties planning your journey please let us know and we'll do our best to help you.
As you will all probably know, we are not very formal people! We are really hoping that our wedding day will be a fun and relaxed celebration with the people who mean the most to us.
We are planning a family friendly day with lots of fun activities to keep children and adults alike entertained (including a bouncy castle, hopefully!).
If the weather is kind, there is an outdoor space that we will be using for games and socialising, and in the evening we are planning to have fire pits lit.
With this in mind, please come in your summer wedding finery, but please bring comfy shoes and a jumper for the evening!
Rough schedule for the day:
We are camping overnight at the campsite adjacent to the venue so there is no formal end time. People can leave whenever they feel ready. The venue closes at midnight so we'll be there until then.
You are very welcome to camp overnight with us and share breakfast in the morning - more details in the camping section.
Our venue is immediately adjacent to Worcester Glamping campsite.
We have hired the whole campsite for the night of the 18th June and will be staying there after the wedding.
You are very welcome to join us if you would like to - but no pressure! There are a limited number of yurts available, which we are prioritising for immediate family and people with young children.
There is also plenty of space to bring your own tent if you would like to. There will be time during the day to wander away from the wedding to set up camp. As we've already hired the campsite there is no charge for camping.
In the morning we will have breakfast at the Bennetts Cafe before heading home (check out from campsite 11AM).
If you would like to join us, either to camp for the night, or to come back in the morning for breakfast, please let us know on the RSVP form. Any questions just let us know.
Your presence at our wedding is all that we are hoping for, so please don't feel that you have to get us a gift! If you are interested in giving something, we'd love it if you could consider donating to one of the charities below:
Rachel's Nana had dementia and so this is a charity that is close to our hearts. As well as offering support for people with dementia and their carers, they also campaign for awareness and policy change, and fund research into new treatments.
Around the world, there are places where COVID-19 vaccination numbers are much lower than the UK, and healthcare workers and vulnerable patients remain unvaccinated. Go Give One funds COVID-19 vaccine doses for lower income countries.
We are moving to Malvern and would like to support the local charities there. Maggs Day Centre is a homeless charity that provides a safe and supportive environment for homeless people. They also offer rough sleepers breakfast, showers and laundry services.
A UK based charity that is fighting for a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean. They campaign for protection of marine habitats and for better environmental regulations.
Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene are basic human rights. They should be a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere - but they aren't. Water Aid is focused on providing these facilities to communities in need.
The Wildlife Trusts is responsible for protecting natural environments across the UK. They are fighting for the natural world, tackling climate change, and are campaigning for 30% of the UK's land and seas to be connected and protected for nature by 2030.
Please RSVP using the button below. The form contains information on your menu options so please fill out one RSVP per person attending the wedding.
We are making a music playlist and are looking for good song recommendations so please submit as many groovy tunes as you can think of!
We know some of our guests will be travelling some distance and might want to make a weekend of it. Below are some ideas for you:
The Malvern Hills showground is hosting its Royal Three Counties Show on the 17th-19th June. We haven't ever been but it sounds like a fun event.
Activities listed on website include a flower show, food and drink festival, livestock judging, Red Devils display, show jumping, meet the animals and more.
The Malvern Hills are beautiful and if the weather is good you have long-ranging views over Worcestershire to the East and Herefordshire to the West. There are lots of routes to the top.
The Firs - Elgar's birthplace, a small property with lots of information about Edward Elgar and the opportunity to play his piano (Rachel did!)
Croome - Huge house and surrounding parkland designed by Capability Brown.
Ben and Rachel met online in September 2016. They hit it off after Rachel commented on how Ben “must have immense leg muscles” from cycling 12 miles to work, and Ben counted how many exclamation marks Rachel used in her profile (there were 21 if you're interested).
Their first date was spent discussing their shared favourite book, The Name of the Wind, talking about the junior doctor strikes, and both being too embarrassed to suggest ordering food. They ended up leaving at 10pm and both buying takeaway on the way home!
On their first date, Rachel let Ben know she was planning on taking a year off and travelling around South America. Not long after that, she persuaded him to quit his job and come with her. Six months spent learning Spanish, hiking up mountains and spotting flamingoes cemented their relationship and the rest is history!
